Orders
Tracking, changes, cancellations, and payments.
What is the status of my order?
Once your order ships you'll receive an email with tracking. If you're having trouble, email us at support@somerside.com.au.
How do I use a discount code?
Enter your code at checkout. One code per order. If you haven't received a code you're expecting, check your spam folder — delivery can sometimes be delayed by your email provider.
Can I change my address after ordering?
Email support@somerside.com.au as soon as possible — ideally right after placing your order or before 9am AEDT the next business day. We check emails before packing. If your order has already been dispatched unfortunately there is nothing we can do - we recommend calling Australia Post with your tracking number as soon as possible and request a parcel redirect to the correct address.
Can I cancel my order?
Email support@somerside.com.au as soon as possible and we'll do our best. During Black Friday and Christmas sales, we're unable to cancel orders once placed.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Afterpay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay.
Shipping
Delivery times, costs, and international shipping.
How long does shipping take?
Orders ship within 1–2 business days excluding public holidays. You'll receive a confirmation email when your order is placed and a second email with tracking when it ships. In terms of delivery times this varies by service, please check our shipping page for more information.
How much does shipping cost?
Free shipping on Australian orders over $120. For orders under $120, shipping is $9.95 for standard, and $20 for express.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to over 100 countries. International customers are responsible for any customs and duties. If your country doesn't appear at checkout, email support@somerside.com.au. Please note we currently do not ship the United States.
Do you ship to the US?
Not at this time. Due to recent US import tariff changes, we've paused US shipping to avoid unexpected delivery fees. We're monitoring the situation and hope to reopen when conditions allow.
Will I have to pay customs & duties taxes?
If you purchase from outside of Australia or the US, you, the buyer, are responsible for all customs & duties associated within your own country. For detailed information, we recommend contacting your local customs office.
What happens if my order includes a pre-order item?
Your entire order will be held and shipped together once all items are available. If you'd like in-stock items sooner, place a separate order. We always build extra time into our pre-order dates and will email you with any updates.
Returns & Exchanges

What is your returns policy?
Items must be in new, unused condition and returned to our warehouse within 30 days of placing your order. Shipping fees are non-refundable. For full details, see our Returns page.
Are sale items returnable?
No. All items marked FINAL SALE are non-returnable, non-exchangeable, and non-refundable.
I received a gift. Can I exchange it?
If it's within 30 days than yes — email support@somerside.com.au with as much detail as possible and we'll help arrange an exchange.
What if my item is faulty?
Email support@somerside.com.au with photos and we'll arrange a repair or replacement. If the item is no longer in stock, we'll offer an alternative of equal value or a full refund.

What's the difference between sand free and cotton towels?
Sand free towels are made from recycled plastic bottles — lightweight, quick-dry, compact, and sand slides right off. Perfect for travel, beach, camping, and adventures. Cotton towels are thicker, softer, and more absorbent. They feel like a traditional towel and are perfect for lounging poolside or at home.
What's the difference between the quick-dry and long sleeve ponchos?
Quick-dry ponchos are made from our sand-resistant recycled fabric — lightweight, fast-drying, and packable. Great for summer and travel. Long sleeve ponchos are 100% organic cotton at 380gsm — heavyweight, warm, and cosy. Built for cold water days, camping, and winter.
What size poncho should I choose?
Our ponchos are unisex and based on men's sizing, cut roomy for easy changing and layering. If you're a women's size 8–14, we recommend S/M. Women's size 16–20, go with L/XL. Check the size guide on each product page for specific measurements.
What's the difference between recycled and towelling beach bags?
Recycled beach bags are made from recycled plastic bottles with a water-resistant lining, light insulation, and a middle divider — structured and practical for carrying wet items, food, or drinks.
Towelling beach bags are 600gsm cotton terry with a natural cotton lining — soft, relaxed, and premium. No divider. Both convert from tote to backpack.
Are the convertible beach bags insulated?
Recycled beach bags have light bamboo fibre insulation with a water-resistant lining. Towelling beach bags are not insulated but they are a thick 600 GSM towelling so there is some natural insulation.
Will the beach bag fit as carry-on?
Yes. They weigh approximately 0.9kg empty and fit within most major airline carry-on limits including Qantas, Virgin, and Jetstar.
How big are your cooler bags?
Large Coolers: They have an 18 litre capacity (35cm x 23cm x 23cm) with clever configuration so you can fit multiple wine/champagne bottles lengthways, or 18 cans with food and ice on top.
Mini Coolers: Have an 8 litre capacity (21cm x 18cm x 20cm) with clever configuration so you can fit a 6 pack, with food and ice on top, or multiple Tupperware containers and snacks, making them the perfect lunchbox..
How long will your cooler bags keep items cold for?
Our cooler bags our designed to keep food and drinks chilled for up to 8 hours. For best results we suggest packing ice packs, keeping your cooler bag in the shade and zipped up at all times. If you chose to put ice blocks in your cooler, empty ice as it melts to avoid leakage and condensation.
What size bottles fit the bottle bag?
Most 1-litre water bottles, depending on shape and diameter. Standard cylindrical bottles including most stainless steel and reusable bottles fit comfortably.
Product Care
General
How do I wash my towel/poncho?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Avoid fabric softener — it reduces absorbency over time. For the quick-dry towels, the washing instructions are included in the hidden zip pocket of each towel.
How do I clean my beach bag or cooler?
Wipe the interior lining with a damp cloth. For the exterior, spot clean or hand wash and air dry. Do not machine wash.
The towelling beach bags can be washed on gentle cycle - we do not recommend doing this often as the brass hardware may rust.
Sustainability
What we're made from and why it matters.
What makes your products sustainable?
We make products from recycled plastic bottles, organic cotton, and natural materials like waxed canvas — choosing the lowest-impact option that doesn't compromise on quality or function. Everything is designed to last for years, not seasons. Even our packaging is biodegradable or recycled.
What materials do you use across your range?
Sand-free towels, quick-dry ponchos, beach bags, and cooler bags are made from recycled plastic bottles. Cotton towels and long sleeve ponchos are organic/sustainably sourced cotton. We also use wool offcuts for cooler bag insulation, bamboo fibre in our beach bags, and waxed cotton canvas for our bottle bags.
Are your materials certified?
Yes. Our recycled polyester is certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), which covers traceability, environmental standards, and social requirements across the entire supply chain.
General
Will sold out items be restocked?
We're a small, seasonal business — once we sell out for the season, we generally can't restock. If an item is no longer on the website, it's been discontinued. You can sign up for back-in-stock notifications on any product page, or check our stockists page to see if a store near you has it.
Do you take donation requests?
We are currently not accepting any donation requests. Emails regarding donation requests will not receive a response at this time.
